One Brooklyn Health System (“OBH”) experienced a data breach between July 9, 2022, and November 19, 2022. 235,251 persons were impacted. According to the notice posted on OBH’s website, information affected included “names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state identification numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, medical treatment information, prescription information, medical diagnosis or condition information, and health insurance information.”
OBH is a non-profit corporation “operating to enhance healthcare services in the communities of Central Brooklyn” according to its website. It operates Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, Interfaith Medical Center, and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, all located in Brooklyn. OBH has an extensive network of primary, behavioral health and specialty care locations, including nursing homes and senior living facilities. All of its facilities and locations are in Brooklyn.
