We are currently investigating a breach of customer data impacting customers of Webster Bank.
Between November 27, 2022, and January 22, 2023, Guardian Analytics, a third-party vendor used by Webster Bank, NA, experienced a data breach. Cybercriminals accessed Guardian’s systems, including files containing Webster clients’ personal information such as names, SSNs, and financial account numbers. 191,563 persons were affected. Information from those files has been posted for sale on the internet according to the notice letter.
Webster Bank is based in Stamford, Connecticut, and has locations in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachussetts, and New York.
Guardian Analytics is an AI-based financial risk management solution provider. It is now owned by NICE Ltd., an Israeli company with headquarters in New Jersey.
